"The Healthy Venue accreditation arose out of frustration." says founder Christine Trimmer, who established the accreditation while working for the World Obesity Federation as Executive Director. "As a professional event organiser I couldn’t believe how difficult it was to find healthy options that weren’t much more expensive as unhealthy options on menus. I have lost count of how many times an apple was three times the price of a cookie!"
Here at Healthy Venues we believe that people should leave an event having experienced a healthy environment, whether that’s because of healthy options at meal breaks, or simply being encouraged to take a less sedentary approach to attending the event.
In association with the World Obesity Federation, we have created an accreditation that encourages venues to engage their event customers in a conversation to change some aspects of the events they host, which in return will make a big difference to their visitors. We are committed to changing the world and making a difference to people’s lives, one venue at a time.
What accreditation means for your venue
By becoming an accredited Healthy Venue, you can show your commitment to events, visitors and your employees. Stand out above the rest as the healthy choice.
Soon, you could be attracting more customers by providing the best facilities to delegates and transforming each conference or event into a healthy and enjoyable experience.
